Principal Transmission Line Engineer
Seeking an energetic civil or electrical engineer who can manage several electric transmission line projects concurrently for various utility clients. Must combine transmission line design experience with solid project management capabilities. Primary task will be helping to build an expanding Power Delivery team within a highly regarded, global, EPC firm. You will mentor and supervise a design group consisting of transmission line design engineers, designers, and CADD operators.
Candidate must have demonstrated leadership skills and project management skills with a strong ability to multi-task and prioritize activities while maintaining a high standard of quality in the project deliverable.
Primary qualifications:
- Minimum 8 - 10 yrs. experience
- BS degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering
- Registered Professional Engineer preferred
- Utility and/or consulting engineering firm experience is essential
- High voltage projects from 230kV - 500 kV
- PLS CADD and/or AutoCAD expertise
- Distribution Line experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities will involve engineering tasks associated with the design of high-voltage electrical transmission lines. These tasks will include:
- route selection
- concrete foundation design and grading/drainage design for substations
- material specifying
- surveying
- construction bid document preparation
- design/construction liaison
- installation
